Beckstoffer Bourn

William Bowers Bourn II — the last Bonanza King of the Gold Rush, owner of the Empire Mine and builder of Greystone Cellars — purchased this St. Helena property in 1872 as a family home. Much of the original estate remains with his descendants; in 2010, Beckstoffer Vineyards acquired thirteen almost entirely planted acres of it, including venerable head-trained Petite Sirah vines alongside a diverse selection of Cabernet Sauvignon clones.

The vineyard sits on the St. Helena valley floor between two other storied Beckstoffer sites, Dr. Crane and Las Piedras, and shares their well-drained gravelly soils.

Our Bourn Vineyard Cabernet is marked by blue fruits and allspice over graphite, with the mineral streak that runs through all the great St. Helena benchland wines.
