A well-known critic once described our wines as “swoon inducing.” While we’re not sure exactly where this quality originates -perhaps in the earth and sun of our low yield vineyards, or in the hands of our masterful blenders and winemakers –  whatever it is, it gives Carter Cellars wines the ability to stir the passions and overwhelm the senses.

The Carter Cellars 2020 vintage possesses our signature qualities of incredible finesse and verve, alongside a deep and true representation of the vineyards from which they were sourced. While this proved to be a vexatious vintage, the grapes where harvested before the Glass Fire and showcase some of the best of what Napa has to offer in 2020. Having carefully and constantly monitored the evolution of these wines in barrel, we believe that these wines from the western Napa Valley Floor are nothing short of spectacular with our hallmark qualities of delicious ripe fruit and seasoned tannins.  Great wineries make great wine year after year and we invite you to visit us to see exactly what we mean.

In 2020 we are releasing ten unique and exceptional wines: from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard we have the following: our massively-structured Beckstoffer To Kalon ‘The O.G.’ Cabernet, the slightly more fruit-forward Beckstoffer To Kalon ‘The Grand Daddy’ Cabernet, and the rich, lush and elegant Beckstoffer To Kalon ‘The Three Kings’ Cabernet. Each of these Beckstoffer To Kalons have very distinct characteristics and personalities. Moreover we have also masterfully crafted another Beckstoffer To Kalon ‘The G.T.O.’ from the very best barrels out of the vineyard, aiming to replicate the five 100 point scores we have received over the past eight years. Additionally, we are thrilled to offer three highly praised Cabernets from the Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard in St. Helena: ‘La Verdad’ from our original section on the vineyard, ‘La BAM’, a favorite of the critics and our rarest offering, ‘Los Compadres’.   Beyond the single vineyard offerings, we are pleased to announce two cabernet blends, the fan favorite, ‘Carter’ and the economical “The Haze,” sourced primarily from new plantings from the Fortuna Vineyard. Finally, we are excited to announce a new Red Blend, named “The Daze,” a merlot based wine from the Sugarloaf Mountain vineyard located in Napa right above San Pablo Bay. MORE DETAILS
